1. Welcome to the I-Services Specifications (ISS) Wiki

This is the home of the open public royalty-free specifications published by XDI.org for interoperable Internet identity services, called i-services. The i-services available for any XRI-identified resource (e.g., person, organization, application, document, etc.) can be discovered by resolving its XRI into an XRDS resolution document. For more information, see the XDI.org Global Services Specifications (GSS) available on the [WWW]XDI.org GSS wiki.

This wiki contains the authoritative specification for each i-service together with best practices, FAQs, and links to other resources helpful to i-brokers, network application developers, and end-users.

2. Current I-Service Specifications

The following table serves as an index to all i-services specifications currently published by XDI.org:
Spec Name Current Status Description I-Broker Compliance Requirement
OpenIdAuthnService Working Draft 2 Enables XRI owners to login to OpenID-enabled websites with their i-name and private password. Required – See IbrokerCompliance
ContactService Working Draft 5 Gives XRI owners a safe way to be contacted over the Internet without opening themselves up to spam. Required – See IbrokerCompliance
ForwardingService Working Draft 3 Enables XRI owners to assign their own XRIs to Web resources that never need to change even if the resource changes its name or moves to a new location on the network. Required – See IbrokerCompliance
SamlAuthnService Working Draft 1 Enables XRI owners to login to SAML-enabled websites with their i-name and private password. Optional

Watch this wiki or subscribe to the [WWW]ISS mailing list for announcements of other new i-services specifications as XRI infrastructure grows.

3. I-Service Endpoint Definitions

See IserviceEndpointDefinitions for quick reference to the XRDS service endpoint element and attribute values for the i-services listed above.

4. Example XRDS Files

See the following links for example XRDS files containing the sample i-service endpoints for sample registrants in the !, @, and = registries.

5. Integrating XRI Resolution with OpenID

The XriOpenIdIntegration page contains guidelines and recommendations for integrating XRI resolution with OpenID code modules.
